We're building Gossip Buzz to keep children and teens safe from harmful content — and to use the feed itself to protect, teach and motivate, instead of to hook.
The problem we refuse to accept
Mainstream social media is engineered for addiction, and it harms the most vulnerable users the most. Algorithmic doomscrolling, predatory contact, explicit and harmful content, comparison-driven anxiety and misinformation reach children and teens first — because the business model rewards time-on-screen above everything else.
Our answer — what makes us different
Each promise is backed by something we've actually built.
We profit from well-being, not addiction
Every other feed is engineered to keep you scrolling — infinite scroll, variable rewards, outrage. We refuse that business model.
How: Built-in screen-time, downtime, runtime-limit interstitials and wellness reminders. The feed is tuned for time well spent, not time-on-app.
Safe for children & teens by default
Kids and teens are the most harmed by today's social apps — predators, explicit content, comparison anxiety.
How: Four age bands (child / teen / youth / adult), age-gated buzzes, sips and circles, DOB-validated profiles, and restricted defaults for under-18.
An on-device guardian that never reads your chats
Child safety and privacy are usually a trade-off. We give you both.
How: Chats and calls are end-to-end encrypted. The predatory-message scanner runs entirely on the device — it protects the child without anyone (including us) reading the conversation.
Parents in control — together, not spying
Parental tools are usually punitive surveillance. Ours are collaborative.
How: Per-child Parental Controls (Nurture / Shield / Sentinel), a guardian dashboard, a custom keyword watchlist, screen-time and allowed-hours — set up together.
Content that teaches and motivates
We want a young person to leave the app calmer, more curious, and more likely to do something real.
How: A positivity engine surfaces uplifting, age-appropriate, learning content — and daily Action Tasks reward you (with Gosip Points) for doing something offline and good.
A healthy, authentic community
Bots, manipulation and misinformation poison every platform.
How: Per-account trust scores, anti-bot and anti-coordinated-inauthentic-behaviour systems, misinformation controls, and a layered report → AI + human moderation pipeline.
Rewarding good, not just loud
Outrage and clickbait win on other platforms. Not here.
How: Gosip Points and Hive fan-tiers reward positive contribution; creator earnings are tied to genuine quality and views, never to outrage.
