Community Guidelines

Gossip Buzz is built to be a safe, respectful, and vibrant community. These Community Guidelines apply to all content and behaviour on the platform — buzzes, sips, debates, circles, chats, profiles, and calls.

Violating these guidelines may result in content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension, or permanent ban, and in serious cases, reporting to law enforcement.

1. Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) — Zero Tolerance

2. Child Safety

• Users must be at least 13 years old (higher in some jurisdictions — see our Terms).
• Users under 18 have restricted defaults: private profile, limited DMs from strangers, restricted discoverability.
• Content depicting children must be appropriate and non-exploitative. Parents/guardians sharing family content must ensure children's dignity and safety.
• We proactively scan uploads against known CSAM hash databases (PhotoDNA, NCMEC).
• We cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations related to child safety.

3. Violence and Threats

• No threats of violence against individuals or groups.
• No content that incites, glorifies, or promotes violence.
• No promotion of designated terrorist organisations or mass-casualty events.
• No graphic violence, gore, or shock content without appropriate context (news reporting, documentary, education).

4. Harassment and Bullying

• No targeted harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any individual.
• No doxxing (publishing private information without consent).
• No coordinated harassment campaigns.
• No revenge porn or non-consensual intimate imagery.
• No stalking or unwanted repeated contact after being blocked.

5. Hate Speech

• No content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or caste.
• No slurs, dehumanising language, or stereotypes used to attack protected groups.
• Debate and criticism of ideas, policies, and institutions is allowed — attacking people for who they are is not.

6. Sexually Explicit Content

• No pornography or sexually explicit content.
• No unsolicited sexual messages or images.
• No sexual services solicitation.
• Artistic nudity may be permitted in limited contexts with appropriate age-gating.

7. Misinformation and Deception

• No deliberately false information that could cause real-world harm (health, safety, elections).
• No impersonation of real people, organisations, or officials.
• No coordinated inauthentic behaviour or platform manipulation.
• No artificially inflated engagement (fake likes, followers, comments).
• Bot accounts must be clearly labelled as bots.

8. Spam and Commercial Abuse

• No spam, unsolicited bulk messaging, or repetitive content.
• No phishing, malware distribution, or credential harvesting.
• No pyramid schemes, scams, or unregulated financial services.
• No sale of regulated goods (weapons, drugs, counterfeit items).

9. Intellectual Property

• Respect copyright, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights.
• Only share content you own or have permission to share.
• We respond to valid DMCA/copyright notices — see Terms §7.

10. Privacy

• Do not share others' personal information without consent.
• Do not record or screenshot private conversations and share them publicly without all parties' consent.
• Respect people's privacy settings and boundaries.

11. Enforcement

We enforce these guidelines through a combination of:

• Automated detection — AI classifiers for spam, nudity, hate speech, and CSAM
• User reports — report any content or user via the in-app report button
• Human review — trained moderators review flagged content

Actions we may take:

• Content removal or age-gating
• Reduced distribution (shadow restriction)
• Feature restrictions (temporary mute, posting limits)
• Account suspension (temporary or permanent)
• Reporting to law enforcement (for illegal content, especially CSAE)

12. Appeals

If you believe your content was removed or your account was restricted in error, you can appeal:

• In-app: Settings → Help & Feedback → Appeal a decision

Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator within 7 business days.

13. Reporting

To report content or a user:

• Tap the ⋯ menu on any buzz, sip, comment, or profile → Report
• In chat: long-press a message → Report
• Email: abuse@gossipbuzz.app
