How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Gossip Buzz account and all associated data directly from the app. No email or support request needed.
Steps to delete your account:
- Open Gossip Buzz on your device
- Go to Profile tab (bottom right)
- Tap the Settings gear icon
- Tap Account
- Scroll down and tap Delete Profile
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your profile information (name, avatar, bio, username)
- All your buzzes (posts) and rebuzzes
- All your sips (short videos)
- All your comments and reactions
- Your circle (community) memberships
- Your follow/follower relationships
- Your bookmarks and saved content
- Your Yeti Coin wallet balance
- Your device sessions and authentication keys
- Your contact discovery data (hashed phone numbers)
What Is Retained
- Messages you sent to others — already delivered messages remain on recipients' devices (end-to-end encrypted, we cannot access them). Messages auto-delete after 30 days.
- Anonymous aggregated data — de-identified analytics (e.g. total app usage counts) that cannot be linked back to you.
Deletion Timeline
- Immediate: Your profile becomes invisible to other users
- Within 24 hours: Your buzzes, sips, and comments are removed from all feeds
- Within 30 days: All data is permanently purged from our servers
Alternative: Deactivate Instead
If you want a temporary break, you can deactivate your profile instead of deleting it. Go to Profile → Settings → Account → Deactivate Profile. Your data is preserved but hidden from others. You can reactivate anytime.
